My uncoated 1.75 no air SLPs were cheaper out of a GP from thunder racing. Getting them coated or with emissions makes the GP worth while.

Yup, I want 1-3/4 coated, no air. SLP list says $550ish I think. Any idea what we can get these for?

Does anyone know, do you honestly need that overpriced install kit? I have 1-5/8" SLPs on my car already, so I figure I'll just use the existing setup (gaskets, bolts, and y-pipe) and sell the rest to someone else...

I personally am not going to order one. I think its a cat. adapter and bolts and stuff. so I know I won't be ordering one.

You need a cat adapter unless you have one made and you need their y-pipe - header gaskets for a complete seal, a felpro equivilent won't seal as I found out. The rest, gaskets, bolts, heat sleaving can be gotten for cheaper out of the install kit.

The 82-87 install kit also has a modified A/C compressor bracket for those cars equipped with A/C.

I have a piece of advice. I was in on the last GP, and I ordered the 30000C and the install kit for it. Don't buy the install kit. The only useful thing is the bolts and the instructions. there were AIR tubes that I didn't know where the went, I didn't even use them, the gaskets were useless, I didn't even try them because they were individual gaskets. nightmare to even start to put them on. The AIR valve elbow pipe doesn't fit anything, I don't even know why they sent me this piece, it's useless. Another useful thing was the orange heat shield sleeves for the spark plug wires. In all, buy the headers, don't buy the install kit.

Ok thunder racing is going to be hosting this GP. here is an email I got from them. also I'm not going to be goin w/ SLP headers anymore so does anybody want to take this over for me? thanks

Email ------------------

Hello,

We could do a 10% off any of the 82-92 SLP headers/install kits if we can get a minimum of 7 orders. Once we get to the 7 orders we will order all the headers at once and have them shipped to us on freight and then we will redirect them to each customer. Shipping will be less expensive for you if we do it this way. Delivery time may take 4-6 weeks though as SLP is fairly slow about getting orders shipped.

Thanks,

I might be up for this for some 1.75" coated units with the cat adapter for the single 3" cat setup.... As much as I don't want to do shorties again, I just don't like what I have seen and heard about running the Hooker SCs with a T56..... At least not with the Spohn CM. And one way or another, the tiny-a$$ed Edelbrocks gotta get gone with the new engine plans I am working on considered .
