chunks of cat in exhaust

I was putting my exhaust back on the muffler and tale pipes. As I was putting it on I found 2 huge chunks of my cat in side the exhaust. So the packs in the cat are destroyed. My question is will the huge hollow cavity hurt my cars performance in any way?

I am still a newbie but I believe I can answer your question. I will say it will likely not affect it adversly, but alot of people here will tell you that the loss of backpressure on the engine will affect the systems fine tuned schematics (not sure if that is the right word) throwing off the computer or something like that. But if you havn't noticed a loss of power then you will likely not see a loss of it from the lack of cat in the future, in fact alot of people here run without any cat at all.
