exhaust tips

I am getting ready to get my flowmaster cat back system installed. I am trying to find a post someone put in here with exhaust tips. It had a long string of pics of different tips. I am trying to decide which tips to get. I would use the search, but as you guys know, the search function is not working right now.

Look in my sig. I got these tips from Midas. Also, make sure that they don't stick out a lot. Maybe an inch or two.

I like ThirdgenTA's tips better than the Flowmasters' because they are longer and more angled cut.

I know this isn't a very good pic but, these are 3.5" wide and 24" long stainless steel with an angle cut. These are my favorites.

I just put on a set of those big fat Midas angle cut tips Thirdgen86TA has. I have to say they look ****in good! It's almost like rims where it changes the appearance of the car dramatically especially when you go from 2.5 to 3.5.

Sorry, no digital cam. But they look similar to the ones the red car has on this thread:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=163616

They were 33 bucks each. I had 'em welded. Total with labor came out to about 120.

You mean these ones? I got them from Midas and they cost me $20.00 a piece. They still look like new. BTW they are 3inch. Make sure when you have themw welded on they only stick out of the bumper a little bit. No more then 2 inches or else it looks tacky. I think mine are at the perfect angle.

Yep those are the ones. I had brought a set of cheap Pep Boys tips to the shop to get 'em installed but after seeing theirs I went with those instead. 3" still looks hell of a lot better than my skinny 2.5 pipes I had before. And yeah I made sure they didn't stick out a lot this time. I got tired of looking at my old downward-bending tailpipes and am happy with the look these new tips gave to the car. Will try and get some more pics soon.

Well I just measured the diameter of the tips and they're exactly 3.5". I guess that's why they cost more. But did I mention they look good??

Thirdgen, they still look new and they are chrome?? Do you polish them?? The Pep Boys 1's don't seem to last or look as good. What diameter is the pipe you put them on??

What length did you guys get??

I went with the Midas tips cuz they were bigger diameter (3.5"), longer length (22"), the metal was thicker, and they just plain looked better. I put 'em on the 2.5" tailpipes I have (the tips taper down to about the same diameter where it gets welded to the pipe). They just cut part of the pipes and welded 'em all around.

I got mine from a guy on Ebay for ~$60. They are stainless steel. I forgot to mention that.

I love them. They come with little drain holes drilled on the bottom so moisture (snow) doesn't collect there.

The pic doesn't do them justice.
