exhaust
i need some input on what exhaust system i should get. i got an 85 in the works and i am
wondering which exhaust system i should get but i want the one that sounds real nice with
a gain of power.
flowmasters
hooker cat back
randon tech power max
borla
slp
edelbrock cat back
they will be bolted on along with the edelbrock tsi headers. i want nice deep sound i want
my car to sound nasty as all hell and it's going to also move quickly. i am getting an
edelbrock torker cam, holley street dominator intake, the headers and exhaust.. a 350 of
course. not going to be the fastest car in the world but like i said for a 17 year old not
too shabby. these trans ams are the **** =) and remember if you have input i want nice sound
and alittle more power.. i know i won't get much power. thanks

Are emissions something with which you need to concern yourself?
Do you like being able to carry on a conversation with a passenger in your vehicle? Do you ever like to be able to hear the stereo while the engine is running? Sometime in the future, do you see yourself becoming a responsible, productive member of society?

Careful, you don't want to go around actually encouraging Mark...

I played Mark's sound clip on the computer at home, my wife didn't know what I was doing. She asked, "How did you get your car on the computer?"
I haven't heard Flowmaster and Hooker equipped cars side-by-side, but I do know I have set off car alarms driving through parking lots. Not that I particularly like a loud car, but that's what I've got.
The '57 is louder, though...
I don't think you would go wrong with any of the systems you mention. The Flow and Hooker seem to be the most popular, though (Hooker the up-and-comer, Flowmaster the old stand-by).

The Hooker clip does sound good but his motor sounds pretty stock ("weak" I mean) Sorry Mark he said not to encourage you. I think that's a good test for an exhaust if it sounds good on a stock car. So I agree Flowmaster or Hooker are good but I like the Flows a lot better now that the Delta Flows take a lot of the interior noise away

That was with a stock motor, only headers on it. And a replacement cat from NAPA.
However, that's all changed now
Anyways , just curious as to why you're using that Edelbrock cam? Most on here avoid Edel cams.

LUNATI is my favorite. They're made by Holley which probably test them with the manifold your buying and the carb you should be running. I run the Lunati 288/298 int .543 exh .561 and she screams but my motor is pretty built and not very traffic friendly.
