I am thinking about getting one. How does it sound? Did you notice a power increase?

It sounds quiet at idle, though a little rumblier and bassey, and is only slightly louder than stock, though it flows WAY better. I love mine, and once I graduate to a larger motor, I will trade my Dynomax for a larger Dynomax (I like it that much).

What he said.

I got mine about a yr ago & I luv it. It sounds good w/out being TOO LOUD. I like the 'walk soft & carry a big stick' sound myself.

The best comparison is James Earl Jones' voice (Darth Vader). His voice sounds deep, smooth, and mellow, UNTIL YOU **** HIM OFF!!!!!!!! Plus it's a good 'Middle of the Road' price.

Just my 2¢.

i have one as well, I must agree with the above, it is great you drop it to 1200 rpm at about 35 and it just has this mellow rubble. I will eventually go to duals, for stock setup it is great price wise, the previous owner admitted he got it for 40 bucks out of a wreck, and mandrel bent 3" pipe to it. Adds ponies too!!

Although it's certainly not the loudest system available, it is one of the best-flowing. I got one with Super Turbo mufflers and I absolutly love it!!!

I've had Dynomax on all my thirdgens. On my winter driven vehicles, the pipes seem to rot within 2 or 3 years, but that's no matter because the fiberglass blows out LONG before that. Mine only stay quiet for about 10k miles MAX. My 2.8 Camaro is obnoxious sounding with the dynomax. My IROC is quiet, but that's because I don't have a lot of miles on the exhaust yet. I'm not terribly impressed with the longevity of the Dynomax, but the sound is decent. Personally I'm looking for something substantially throatier. I'm going to be removing my dynomax and upgrading to a 3" intermediate pipe with a resonator and no muffler, ala SLP's loudmouth.

Also worth mentioning, all of my Dynomax systems are the 2.5" systems. Dynomax doesn't offer a 3" for the 85 style cat, so I was forced to get the 2.5" system when I still had the stock cat. Now that I've got a universal cat I've got a lot more flexibility, but I'm still going with the custom exhaust this time around.

Got one on my IROC..love it. Sounds great and it's just loud enough when you get on the gas. I'd do it again.

Put my DynoMax cat back on about 5 months and 15,000 miles ago. No rust, and it's only slightly louder than when I put it on. I did add Trans Am tailpipes. Cut them off 18" before the rear bumper and weled on 3" MagnaFlow stainless tips. they stick out about 2" past the rear bumper. This got rid of all the resonance inside the car. A flyer I just read from "Ravin" muffler shows that the DynoMax flows a good bit better than a 40 series Flowmaster. Whatever sound you want is up to you but I would but another one.

I ran a dynomax catback exhuast like a year ago, and i did'nt like it because it was too quiet, and it sounded stock. I run a 2 3/4 inch pipe with a 80 series flowmaster. sounds great and really loud.
