I had to take the headers of my L69 today and discovered something strange. The pipes where not equal in lenght (none of them). Pipe from cyl #8 was only half of the pipe from #2. Does those headers work?

Sure they do! They are much less restrictive than the factory exhaust manifolds, so you are miles ahead
