how to make my hooker scream

well, just like the topic says. i got a hooker catback system and it sounds nice. only problem is that its not loud enough. i have a stock cat and stock 305tbi. will getting rid of the cat make the exhaust louder? and when i rev the engine to show off the pipes, it back fires abit, how can i get rid of the rapping sound?

Headers will make your car louder, the cat may help a little as well. Let the exhaust break in for a little while before you judge how it sounds, it might take a few weeks.

My brothers car does that sometimes as well, not sure why. Maybe it has something to do with a loss of backpressure. Since it is widely believed that backpressure is bad, then the sound is good? just talking out of my *** here.

I put the Hooker 3" Aero Chamber cat-back on my car about a month ago. When I first put it on it was very quiet but then slowly got louder and louder. Now its pretty quiet at idle/cruising but when you give it some gas it screams. No matter how high I rev the engine my exhaust doesn't backfire or crackle at all though.

Last time someone worded the topic like that, someone replied: "Put sand in the Vaseline." I got a good chuckle out of that one.

How does the Hooker cat-back sound compared to a stock 305 tbi? I was thinkin about gettin the hooker cat in the future but is it worth it? I mean im not expectin ear shattering exhaust sounds but i do want somthin to gimme a little more sound

i would strongly recomend a hooker, sometimes ya get lonely and sometimes you need a little noise coming from your exhaust. on my stock 305tbi it sounds good, except i think there might be something wrong with back pressure and it raps when its not under town and coming dowm from a high rpm. i think it might be my cat, i dunno, but id recomend a hooker, on and off the field.
