Spin Tech

has anyone used the spin tech slim-line mufflers and oval tubing? I was thinking it would be perfect for a dual exhaust system on a lowered car. the muffler is only 2 1/4" thick and the tubing has the same area as round, its just flatter. any ideas/thoughts/suggestions?

I doubt anyone here has used the slimline and oval tubing... Most people seem to be stuck on Flowmaster. I'm using just the regular 3 inch in and out race muffler from spintech. I say go for it

nice burnout man! yeah no kiddin about the flowmaster, Im getting really tired of flomaster this, flowmaster that. get off of it already, they're not that good! Im thinking about using the 3" oval with the flat mufflers, but the only thing keeping me from doing it right now is the price. I mean, just the tuning is almost $50 for just 40" of it, the mufflers are like 125. but when its finished, I can already imagine the sound from, and I cant wait to do it.

Hehe thanks on the burnout, fun to do but that was a pricey day my power steering pump went out that day and threw all my belts lol. Wasn't during that burnout though, it happened when doing some dounuts. True about the price, think my system was about 450 bucks at the local shop but not really sure. The guy does good work and is a race junky himself plus runs Spintechs on his cars. Friend of mine had him put on dual 3.5 on his 68 firebird (runs a Chevy 454 pushing about 500 hp) a couple of months ago and that sucker moves now. He was running dual 2.5 with flowmasters but that setup was hurting him bad.

Those real thin 2 & 1/4" mufflers are for 350 HP or lesser cars. That's exactly what the rep at Spin Tech told me. But, I did buy their oval tubing a fab up a dual exhaust w/ an H-pipe. I have long tubes on my car, and I went w/ Car Chemistry collector inserts for mufflers. They run about $100 - $110 for a pair. It isn't way too loud, and should get quieter when I have the whole system Jet Hot coated.

The Guys at spintech will also custom build you a muffler for around $125. I am currently talking to them about a 3in in/out that is only 3inches thick. Everytime I have called them they have been more than helpful. As soon as I get the cash they will be on my car.

thanks for the info guys, as soon as I get the money, I'm getting a system with this stuff. I might as well get the custom mufflers because its about the same price as the regular ones. one other question though, where do you have the tips at? do they go over the axle or dump before it?

I think exhaust is ugly, but that's my opinion. I dumped mine right before the rear axle. But, exhaust dumps aren't everyone's cup of tea.
