Exhaust hitting SSM Subframe

Just replaced all my gaskets, (header and collector pipe) and my gerabox mount to pollyutherane (sp?) and now the exhaust is hitting my passenger side subframe.. I have had to smash my pipe just as it starts going under the passenger side so it clears, but why would it have changed now?

Thanks

Try loosening all the bolts in the exhaust again, and setting a wood block between the pipe and the SFC, then tightening the bolts again. What kind of headers do you have, out of curiosity?

It's the poly trans mount. It raised the engine/trans, thus raising your exhaust closer to your sfc.

Damn poly mount, I did wonder. Thing is the intermediate pipe has already been squashed slightly for clearance if I do any more, I'll probably loose some power. Is ut worth trimming the subframe connector on that side?

Thanks

Trimming the subframe connector may weaken what you have spent money to strengthen. You could replace the poly mount with a new stock one, unless they are repeatedly failing on you.
PS. Don't leave your exhaust pipe dented.

I really need to keep the poly one, I have a bit of a problem with stock ones So the sfc's stay as they are. The only thing that can change is the exhaust. What's wrong with a dented exhaust? Frustrating problem this.

Depending on how badly it is dented, it can restrict flow.
