Hey man, mine sounds good without the cat, but a chevy will never sound like a ford. The firing order on the cylinders and stuff I think is what makes a lot of the difference in sound. My 305tbi sounds great at WOT. Not a deep sounding engine anyway. I also have the flowmaster.

well if ur sounds good cool but my friend did that and his trans am sounds like carp and runs like crap but al;so it ran like carp from the beginning. so im not sayin urs sounds bad its just that i bet if my friend did his the right way it would not sound bad but my friend is a total dork and does not know any skills towards workin on a car.

Mine sounds much tougher, but not raunchy, with straight pipes in place of cats...the key is removing the cats on a car with a muffler that is not obnoxiously loud and tinny to begin with, such as a Dynomax. Damn low rumble shakes the walls of the house now, and the wife loves it too .

LOL, sorry man I totally missed the muffler you were running. I had a buddy with an LT1 Camaro and Flows with no cats...it was pretty damned loud, and had alot of interior resonance. Man, that car sounded wicked, just a little too wicked for me. It's all a matter of preference, just be aware that your exhaust will seem twice as loud without a cat, at least on dual cat cars. But yes, it will be deeper, and LOUDER.

my 80 series is lower then it is louder, you know how it gets to where you can feel it the further away u get, sets of car alarms and shakes the aluminum roof at the car washes, and thats basicaly the only way i can tell its low. definatley lower then 20 Hertz, and i say that since 20 is the lowest humans can hear. but id rather have the perfomance of a HIGH flow muffler.

IIRC, Dynomax mufflers flow better than most Flowmasters. More bite, less bark.
