hey what my brother did oh his headers (he didnt have the edelbrock ones but how cares)after he took off all his emmission crap he took a pair of pilers and crimped them shut and then took his acyetalen torch and brazed to tops of the tubes closed and he didnt have the tubes on the headers he made his own so like if u have one for each tube just cut it to like a inch or so above the header and do what my brother did. and he hasnt had any prolems with them tryin to leak or anything becuz the brazin rod makes a great seal. so i dunno if u want to try that. later

I just put the valves on the ends of the tubes like they should be with the emissions nothing leaks because they need vacum to open so just throw on the valves and your done.

I believe the fitting size is 1/2" NPT. You can use 1/2" pipe caps available from most any hardware store to block them off.

Go to Home Depot and buy a standard pipe endcap for each tube. It's either a 1/2" or 1", I can't remember (think it's 1/2). They're cheap and thread right on the tubes. That's what I did.

The size is 1/2". Go to the hardware store, bring your stock check valves for reference, and match them to pipe caps. I've had mine on for a year without any problems whatsoever. It seems like a waste to ruin a pair of headers by crimping and brazing. you can buy headers without AIR tubes if you really want to totally ditch the AIR...they're cheaper too. It's probably a good idea now to drop your cat because it clogs easier without the AIR system. What I did was weld flanges on my cat and a straight pipe so I can bolt on the cat when emissions time comes and have the pipe on the rest of the time. I hope all goes well, my check valves were a real bitch to get off.

I cut my AIR pipes off, ground the inside and outside of the tubes completely off (those things have to inhibit exhaust flow!! They stick down into the header tube like an inch!!), and welded the holes shut. I retouched the welds to make sure they wouldn't be inhibiting flow....... My car will never have to pass emissions again so I really don't give a $hite about them....

EDIT: They came with the car as well, so I wasn't hacking up a nice new set of headers I just paid good money for.....
