I've never used one personally, but they've gotten pretty good comments in a couple magazines I've read. They especially liked the fact you didn't need to weld them.
I have a complete Mac exhaust on my car. Installation was very nice due to the "tru-fit" system - no welding.
The note is a little raspy, but I don't even have 200 miles on my exhaust yet, so I'm sure that it will break in to a mellower tone.
Be aware that the tips aren't 2.5" inside diameter; there's a shell on them. I didn't realize this when I bought it. If you're looking at them from straight behind it does look a little cheezy.

I love Mac that's why I plan on installing a cat-back myself when I get some money. I hope to have it in by the end of November. A friend of mine has the system on his 86 305 TPI. It sounds very raspy, very loud, and it crackles when you rev it like flows. The only problem with them is that they rust...BAD. My friend has had his on for two years with average winters and there is nothing left of it but rust. I recommend painting it or using a rust repelant on it before you put it in.

Sorry I diden't read your last reply before posting. I don't know how to explain 'raspy' but it kinda sounds like a cross between Borla and Flowmaster (the Borla tone and the growliness of Flows). If that helps any.
The tips are not removable so they will need to be cut if you want to change them.
By the way afgun, could you post a sound clip of your exhaust note on the sounds page?

Thanks for the feedback. I won't be buying until spring so there is still plenty of time to look around.
I just don't want to buy a Flowmaster, but don't have the money for Borla. There is also the issue of looks. If I have to cut the tips, then I would have to put some others in their place. As far as the rust that is not much of a problem down here.

they used to have a reputation for rusting but that was a couple years ago. Maybe they solved it.
