Hooker Aero Chamber Cat-Back...

Can someone tell me what it sounds like at idle, full throttle? Is it loud enough for others to hear it?

Ohhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh....it's loud enough alright. I have gotten tons of compliments on the sound of my Hooker exhaust. Trust me, you'll love it. You just have to get used to hearing a throatier exhaust inside the car after you install it.

Word of advice, if you get it, put chrome polish or wax on the exhaust tips, especially in between the dual tips to prevent rust.

I just had mine put on yesterday. It sounds great, loud when you want it, not so loud when you dont. I like the way the tips look too. Kind of like a c4 vette.

I love hte way mine sounds. Its definetly better sounding than the Flowmaster systems. Its a deep, powerful sound, but not really raspy like the Flowmasters.

I must agree. Although I have'nt actually heard it in person, I have heard no negative comments about this system. I plan on getting it when I get some money.

I would get the Hooker cat back if it weren't for the muffler already being damned loud...I took my cat out, and though the car was loud with the headers and exhaust, it's a lot louder now, and considering Dynomax has probably the quietest aftermarket performance muffler on the market, I couldn't imagine it any louder...

Performance mods
NOS (125 HP shot), Dynomax cat-back exhaust, Hedman headers, K & N open element/ X-Stream lid, MSD 6A ignition, MSD 8.5mm plug wires, LT1 camshaft

Audio

Other

I had the flowmaster catback (the 3in/3out muffler and the dual 2.5" muffler) and now i have the hooker catback. I think it's louder than the flowmaster(s) were, but it's a real deep tone. Loud at idle, loud when u gun it. I love it

Hookers are very quiet at idle, just a low rumble, not too loud, but as soon as you give it a bit of gas, the rest is history.

If I get the Hooker Cat Back, will it fit cars with dual cats without modifying anything for installation. I thought I saw it for camaro's with only one cat, which mine has two?

I think they make a kit for dual cat cars but not sure. The kit includes all clamps and even tips. Like I said earlier I like the way it sounds, it isnt very loud, but mine isnt broken in yet. When the pedals on the floor it sounds VERY nice. The sound kind of reminds me of the 98+ SLP exhaust that comes on the WS6 or SS 4th gens. You wont be disapointed!

I heard that the Hooker Aero Chamber Cat-Back is for single cat cars. I've got 2 cats, what needs to be done for this catback to work?

If you've already got a decent cat-back setup, don't waste your money on a new one. Spend it where you'll benefit the most, IE headers, or some intake mods...

My exhaust setup as of right now is barely hanging on. Where I got my cut-out welded, the shop did a bad weld so I now go to this performance shop about 15 minutes away. I had to get a fuel pump, so he replaced it and he was gonna fix my welds because the exhaust was farting out of the cracks in the welds. He needed to add a new section of pipe that went over my axle, the pipe he put on was a little longer or it hung more than the stock pipe. This caused my cutout to sit about 2 inches off the ground. The next day when I was pulling out of mydriveway, the cutout jammed against the curb, nothing happened to the cutout, but the force on the exhaust caused my seals to break on my exhaust manifolds, and it would be easier if I just got that either fixed or put on headers and get a cat back exhaust.

if you want it to be louder get headers, I hear complaints about volume, but the only time its very quiet is at idle. The rest of the rpm range from 500-5500 on acceleration is very loud, its slightly quieter then my friends lt1 borla exhaust with the largest plate open.

I had mine put on yesterday. At first I didnt like it, but then I got behind it at idle and listen to it rumble. Even pops tracked me down and gave the hood a listen. He said it sounds a little better, but he had a HUGE smile on his face. Now I have to get up early to make sure he doesnt steal my car.

Does the hooker sound good on lt1's also? I like the look but that flowmaster was better until I came on this board.
