They are not the greatest quality, but will give you guys an idea of what my car sounds like. The sound files are a bit distorted but I will try to get some better ones in the future.

Here they are thanks to deadbird:

One is 681 KB and the other is 229 KB.

They are wav files. If someone can tell me if I can get a program to compress them I will if needed.

Ben, I couldn't compress the files (easily) but, they aren't too awful large so I didn't bother doing the work to change them to mp3.
I have to say tho, I am in love with that idle lope. Sounds damm good

For everyone else wanting to share in the sound, here ya go....

http://www.deadbird.org/z/idle.wav

Huh, the sound clips are of my car. That is why I posted this thread. It is hooker long tubes with dual 2.5" pipes into h pipe and then bullet mufflers and turn downs aimed outward a bit.

It is loud, but not what I would consider unbarable. I was actually worried it would be a lot louder. I ran it with open headers, and that was when it worried me because you can see straight through the muffler so I was worried it wouldnt quiet it at all. I havent really driven more than a half mile from my house, so I havent really got a chance to judge the interior noise. I was more in an excited I'm driving my car for the first time in over a year mood than worrying about how lound it was. All I can say is that it is a lot quieter that I thought it could be so thats good.

Oh, and about ground clearance, I made it out of my driveway without any problem. If I made it out of my driveway and back in for that matter I am pretty sure I will not have any problem with any speed bumps or anything. My lowest point is the clamps sticking down which will be removed when I get it welded and even they have about 4 inches of clearance.

Is there any way you can take that 3rd pic again, another person and I are doing a set up like yours and we would like to see it. The light is blocking the view.

Maybe I can this weekend. The camera is crappy and sometimes doesnt want to take pictures unless there is light directly shining in the lense for some reason. I dont know how good I can get one. What are you wanting to see exactly?

yeah, sounds great man.

I am doing the same thing, but with hedman LT's. I had wondered about clearance also. should have more with the bullits than using flows.

You are using the hedman s-extensions also right?

Yes those are the headman s extensions. I painted one of them with aluminum high temp paint because I had to modify it for the oxygen sensor and to aim the right way because the drivers side hooker LT doesnt aim exactly straight back and I wanted the welds painted. It turns out though that it is not aluminized or anything. I wasnt sure before, but the one has some slight rust color on it so if I get a chance I may take a piece of sandpaper to it real quick and paint it too since it is the only piece of my exhaust that is going to rust easily. Everything else is aluminized or jet hot coated or painted.

OK, I actually drilled holes in the driveshaft tunnel real near the back for the hangers. I had to take out the bottoms of the back seats and pull the carpet back to get the bolts through them. I got the mufflers at www.summitracing.com They are made by dynomax.

Are you asking how loud it is at when I am on it? It is pretty loud, but I dont mind. When driving it is still quiet enough I can talk to my passenger. I was afraid it would be worse with these mufflers.

Hey Momar,

What induction system do you have?

Sounds great.

You can hear them horses galloping anxiously.

It is still a computer controlled quadrajet. I have changed to a 350 knock sensor and have upgraded the secondary rods/hanger. I plan on grinding on the tab that stops it from opening past 650 CFM eventually. The heads are ported 416's. The motor its self is nothing real special, but not to bad. I have an LT1 that I plan on building up in the future, but I dont even plan on messing with that for a while, especially since I just got this going.

No, I wasnt being a smartass, I just couldnt understand your run on sentence, lack of punctuation, or whatever the case was. See, now I am being a smartass lol.

Anyway, it is loud, I wont deny that, but I dont think it is overbearing inside. It was definately a whole lot quieter than it was with the open headers. It doesnt hurt my ears to ride in it now like it did. I am sure it would to loud for some peoples taste, but I like it. I havent driven it except around my neighborhood and nearby a couple of times so I am not really totaly used to how loud it is, but it does seem to be quiet enough that I can talk to my passenger without yelling at the top of my lungs.

Hey man, that sounds really bad-***. I got a question about that cam- you said it is 110 LSA. Could I get a similar sound (at idle) with a cam with 112 LSA? What would be the difference? Thanks. -89IRO

Well, for myself, this is the first time I have swaped cams or motors(other than a 2.5 in a 85 s10) for that matter. I dont have a lot of experience with different cams anyway. From what I have read, a 112 will smooth it out a bit, and make it more computer friendly. I just dont know how much of a difference there really is.
