Best Headers ...............

What are the best headers in terms of performance. I don't have to worry about emmisions, but don't want to have a bad scraping problem. This is for a L98. What are the power differences between shorties and LT's?

The power difference is where in the RPM band the headers help out best.

Best for the money would be slp coated headers, at least for shorties.
You can get them in 1 3/4 as opossed to the 1 5/8s primaries of all the other headers out there. Plus being stainless steel and coated they will never wear out. The non-coated run about $600 a set. www.slponline.com

I don't know about SS, but chromed headers blue over time due to heat and look kinda funky. Not sure if heat has the same effect on stainless though.

They will not remain bright like as-received. They will turn brownish over time.

Someone posted pictures of non-coated TES and SLP a little while ago. Look through the posts and you can see for yourself.
