I just had a bad experience with some headers that supposedly were for my 91 formula 305 tpi that did not fit at all. I have to send them back and get some new ones.
How hard are long tube headers to install compared to shorties. Is there a certain procedure that should be followed. I would like to use long tubes, as I'm going with dual exhaust anyway. However, if they are a pain to put in, I don't want them--I haven't driven my car for almost two months. I am sick of driving my mom's astro van
to and from college each day. I want something easy to install and if long tubes fit the bill, then all the better.

Hooker has some intermediate length headers with 1-5/8" primaries and 3" collectors.

I put Hedamn headers on my 84. I don't know if they are intermediate or long, but the pipes extend just past the tranny bell housing. Took 10 hours, and had to jack up the engine to get them past the block.

If you go to Headman's website youll find a 1 3/4 full length but its more expensive, need more modification to fit and takes longer to get compared to the Hooker SC Long Tubes

If you don't mind almost having to pull the engine all the way out then you probably don't want the Hooker Super Comps. I had my motor out when i installed mine. It was easy to install them once i started lowering the motor back down in the hole!!! They are GREAT headers.

I have a set of super comps, they were easy as pie to install for me. Just remove the starter, and install the headers from the bottom...pretty simple. It also helps that I don't have the huge AC box in the way :-). I did have to do a little bit of massaging to the k-member and A-arm to get the headers to sit without touching metal, but nothing a cutting wheel and 10 minutes couldn't take care of. (The drivers side is a direct bolt in, I didn't have to do anything special there)
