flowmaster american thunder

yea, i know which one i want, its part # 17234
it comes wit the 2.5 cat and all that and i already know all the specs.
im just wondering how it would sound on a 3.1
if anybody has any sound clips of it on a 3.1 ONLY, please post them. im just trying to see if it sounds halfway decent on a v6, since its made for a v8.

I don't know exactly how it will sound... HOWEVER it will be higher pitched than a V-8 (don't worry .. you wont be going into ric-er territory... It'll sound nice with a decent flowmaster muffler... just at about 5500 rpm .. you might be getting a tiny bit whinny

i plan also on gettin a new cat, probably dynomax
ive heard that these help make the exhaust louder and a little deeper. do they actually do that?
also, i gues i dont know all the specs about the american thunder package....just 1 question on it. are the tailpipe tips slanted?
and thanks for the reply txhotrs

First off welcome to thirdgen!! I'm not sure about the american thunder system but before i got my 350 tpi put in it had a 2.8 V-6 i ran 2.5" piping high flow cat and Dynomax super turbo muffler and it sounded bad ***. It's not nearly as loud as the 350 i'm running now cause i used the same system for the new motor but on the v-6 it was loud. I've heard 4th gens with the 3.8 through flowmasters that dont sound that good i'd go with the dynomax.
So what's the deal with the car? any goodies or just startin to build it? let me know

well, im not sure if this will be my last mod or not
i got new brake lines and tranny mount just because the old stuff went bad. i also got a k/n custom intake and pioneer h/u and subs that my uncle sold to me cheap.
right now, after the exhaust, im not sure if im gonna keep modding my 3.1 or just go ahead and start saving up for a new z28 or ss for when the camaro comes back out again.
let me know what you think i should do
and thanks for the welcome

Stay away from those like 05 camaros the pics i've seen are ugly i'd get like a ss or like a 91-92 z28 350 tuned port. little better base then a 3.1 got any pics of that cold air intake.
heres a pic of the homemade one i had on my V6 which is now in my girls firebird. she bought one for 800 no motor i had a motor laying around from mine since i put the 350in so i just gave it to her. I'm going to have some metal piping made up for it though, Pretty fast for a chicks car. Gotta love her.

i dont think they actually have a real concept of the new camaro.
i think everythin out there so far is just somebodys idea of what it should look like. and i agree, some of them just plain suck
but anways, yea, the intake i have is almost identical to that one. cept its got a bigger k/n filter, and then it jus runs to the t/b wit the pvc pipes. actually got a big gain at top end i think
now i just need the exhaust to open it all up. im even contemplatin pacesetter headers and a new y pipe. but i need to work to get that money first...lol
