Putting my 305 Roller Block into my '84 S10 for fun. Going to have a 600cfm edelbrock carb on it, headers, and no egr.

Thinking about maybe complying a little with emissions, IF it's not too much a PITA.

I don't know how DEQ reacts to a 5.0L in an engine bay VS a 2.8L... but I was thinking... I have this catco cat left over from my '85 IROC.

If I throw this on the exhaust shop will weld up the pipes, they wont weld exhaust on without a cat. Since the truck had a cat stock.

It's a 3" cat, so I don't think it would be a real problem flow wise, but, will this work? Or is this cat purely for the computer controlled vehicle? The truck doesn't have an AIR pump now (w/ 2.8). So I don't know what I'd do with the metal line going to the cat... and I heard somewhere that the cat has to recieve rich/lean to make it not foul/plug up.

Any input would be awesome. Thanks.

As long as it's not running pig rich, it should be okay. Just plug the AIR tube, it's use is optional on the Catco.
