The brakelines on my drivers side are in my way should i just bend them outa the way. Anyone else have this problem and if so what did ya do to fix it?

Common problem with the SLP's. They don't fit right so you have to modify a few things. Just bend them out of the way and make sure they are far enough away so that the brake fluid doesn't get too hot and possibly boil. That is real bad. Shoulda got the hookers IMHO.

I had to bend mine away too. Just slide a big screwdriver in between and bend them until they do not touch. It doesn't take alot of bending, so do not over do it.

lol bending brake lines is not your all going to do
passengers side went in ok, i had to take the bolts out holding that metal hose going along the frame. but other than that its ok
now the drivers side is not going to happen w/o a big dent to clear that shaft.
i am so mad i am about to buy other headers and forget about this pieces of crap
just venting

I had to take mine out the other day and dimple them too.
Not that bad. I just took a hammer and covered the head with a couple layers of duct tape and whacked it a few times.

put a dent in my brand new header what are you crazy
u have a pic on the header dent u made, i am also going to order some prothane motor mounts see if that helps before i make the dent.
i also bought stage 8 header bolts which i didnt even use, yet.
i may use a few on them to keep things tight some what.

It is so slight, you would never see it if I took a pic. Juuuuuusssst enough to clear the shaft.Originally posted by MdFormula350

He's my 1 5/8" with old motor mounts. Didn't have to move the steering shaft at all. Notice that I moved the brake line (right line in pic) from right of the steering shaft to in between the shaft and body. Just bent it slowly with my hand.
Thanks for all your info the pictures really help to show that im heading in the right direction.
I have the 1 3/4 inch and the stearing shaft has about a 1/2 inch of clearance so i dont think ill have to dent the header.
MdFormula350 I saw that you moved the brake lines to the other side of the stearing shaft. I had been thinking about doing this also. Whats the best way to do this, undoing the breaklines or taking the stearing shaft out?
Here is what i got so far the battery is dead on the digi cam so i couldnt use a flash sorry

if u tell me how you got the shaft to clear i will tell u how to move the brakes lines
do u have new engine mounts or something?
i have my dah apart trying to move the steering shaft, moved alittle not around near what i need.
i took the shaft out, moved about three metal screws holding the brakelines to the frame and then started bending them slowly with a large flat head screw driver.

Just put mine in the other day and all I had to do was put a pry bar in between the shaft and header and slide the brake line out a little. Other then that the headers pretty much slid in both sides. Hardest part was the far rear bolt on the passenger side, it was a huge pain in the a$$. Took me and a friend about 9 hours all together

I dont wana do that, so i ordered some poly engine mounts from summit today should be here b4 the end of the week. If the engine mount doesnt help then ill dent it.

Wow! I did not have to dent mine nearly as much. Just a couple whacks with the hammer worked fine.

Before you go and dent up your new headers, try grinding some metal off the steering shaft first.
Look what I did in this thread:
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=181933
MUCH better than beating $700 worth of exhaust.
Had I known about the Hookers being sold direct from Jet Hot, I probably would have bought those.
