Banks gets my vote.Sound is killer and I gained 14.2 hp on the dyno.Plus it is all stainless and competitively priced with the lower grade aluminezed systems.Best one for the $$ IMO

Banks?? I've never heard of it. I gotta look into that. Pretty much the ones I have been loooking at are Flowmaster and Hooker. Those are pretty much the most competitivley priced ones out there that I saw.

Banks is more known for its diesel stuff then anything else... they can get a big ol turbo diesel moving quite fast with upgrades that will net you about 125hp with upgrading the turbo, exhaust break, exhaust systems and reporgraming... If you have a hauler.. deff go see banks... if you look for the banks system, your gunna need a p/n cause they arent very open with that exhaust system. From what i heard, you need to slip them a magic handshake to get the darn exhaust hehehe. The banks i belive is upwards of 300-400

the performance by most cat-backs will be similar if even noticably different.

just choose the sound you like.

My Banks was $280...Best price I have seen for an all stainless system!Yeah, banks is mostly the turbo Diesel gods now,but remember: before that they were doing (and doing again!) the twin turbo packages for the 350 chevy engines!...IMO,it is the best kept secret the exhaust world knows nothing about.

Random Technology was the best that I have dynoed but most highflow catbacks were about the same. You only lose HP if you go to a chambered muffler like Flowmaster. I haven't tried the Hooker or the Banks. If I could find a Hooker 3" single in/Dual out I would try it. Mark "the Hooker" Shields has got a nice sounding car and has gotten me wanting to try it on my car.

An exhaust that gives the best performance would be long tubes with nothing after that! If you have/want to use mufflers (like the other 99% of us) then either something straight-through or something like hooker or spintech. What other muffler brands out there are chambered like flowmaster?

Flowmaster will flow plenty. Ask some of the 10-12sec. or better cars.

Like said earlier most cat backs will be fairly close performance wise, so it's really sound preference. Another thing that will wake up the sound and performance is a set of headers, shorties with a y-pipe and a good flowing convertor should do you just fine (again many different companies for these, i hear the hookers are nice, get them coated if you can, looks much better later on).

For a 14 second street car yes. For a performance car, no it won't. Ask the 8 and 9 second cars. Dynomax...

Hooker Longtubes - coated 2210's , mufflex Y-pipe, High flow cat, 4th gen Corsa cat back all custom setup by a good exhaust shop.

That is the best exhaust for a 3rd gen camaro / firebird. It sounds KILLER, it will yeild the most gains with still being a sort of legal system, and looks even better!

I have all the above except the Corsa stuff on my car, but I'm working on that!

My cat-back is Flowmaster.

There is no way you can say that is the best setup. Especially when you factor in smog and how much money you have floating around. In California, there is no such thing as "sort of legal". So for me, the ideal setup would consist of Hooker 2055s (shorties), with their y-pipe, carsound cat. (already have) and spintech muffler (already have). Just waitin on those headers!

There are 8-9 sec cars out there running Flowmaster race mufflers. The Dynomax's you are talking about are also race mufflers. Although a car that fast should be running open headers, that's why I meant in the low 10's-low12's bracket. Like I said though, all the fast street cars (or money racers) I see run dual 3" Flowmaster 40 or 30 Series. And once in a while there'll be a Dynomax too.

Nearly every car I see running single digits around here is either open exhaust or Bullets. And when your in a class like Outlaw, when you must run a muffler, you want the least restrictive possible. Nearly everybody in Outlaw runs Bullets.

That is good if 14.9 is an acceptable time for you. I think everyone to this point has been talking about going fast. If you're running 14.9 with stock manifolds and stock exhaust then with headers and a good exhaust then you would be running mid-low 14's. It all depends on how fast you want to go. You want find too many people on any of these boards tell you that upgrading the exhaust is not HIGHLY recommended.
