if it is for your 88 TBI 305 I believe the part # would be 49102.That is what is lists for that applicaiton in my old Banks catalog.Make sure if you call Banks direct though you get their dealer division.Otherwise, you will run into the same problem with their retail parts guys knowing nothing about the Fbody stuff..Best to order from a dealer !..Enjoy it!...I am sure you will

What is the price on one of these banks exhausts? and does ANYONE have a sound clip of it, especially on a 305 with headers.

Mine was Under $300 delivered to my door..Excellent price for an all stainless kit..I know there are a few other guys here that have the Banks as well and they may be able to provide a souand clip for you...I will say it is one of the best (if not the best) cat back system I have ever heard on an fbody!..Not loud at idle or cruising, but very healthy...But when you get into the gas...look out, because it will BARK at you

there are only a few places that offer the Banks system. It is not a widely advertised system & even if you Banks yourself and DO NOT get through to their dealer division, the average sales guy knows NOTHING about it.It is a DEALER only offered product.I would try speeddemonmotorsports.com or exhaustproslinc.com as they offer the banks stuff on their site.I got mine from speed demon and they were very helpful.A killer system & i am sure banks would sell alot more if them if they started to heavily advertise them again!..the best kept secret there is IMO!

Hi, I am new to this site, so this forum may be old news, but from experience if the newer stainless systems are anything like the old banks system I have (just starting to rust after 10 years!) you will be impressed! I have a 3" banks system. Had to weld new openings on the cat to put it on , but wow! I noticed a great improvement in the 305 response and the sound is something that everyone comments on when they hear it. Very throaty whenever you touch the gas, but the regular idle is a nice thrum thrum noise. Subzero, are you still around this board? How long ago did you get that exhaust? I didn't see the older firebirds listed for it on the speed demon site. Glad to hear it is still available as mine is rusting out!

Thanks for the links! That sound clip sounds pretty similar to what mine did, but mine never did the brapping noise at full throttle.

I will try to upload some pics of my TA's when I get them put on my new computer!

is this system true 3" all the way, it doesnt neck down at the muffler or anything? also what is the "split system" that they refer too, dual cat i assume? this kit sounds pretty cool, i have headers and no cat so i am sure it will be really loud, the single 2.5" flowmaster i have on it now really howls.

I just installed mine a couple weeks ago. I have Headman shorties with the Y pipe modified to 3", no cat, and the Banks cat back. It is loud. Nice tone and sound, but pretty loud. At an idle it sounds pretty sweet with the cam and what not and wide open is just wicked sounding.

i have been trying to find a good flowing cat back that is not too loud, but i think with headers and no cat i may have to live with a little noise. does anyone know of a cat back system that is somewhat quiet but still flows?
