I think for emissions purposes the Hpipe or crossover has to be after the cats.....at least thats what Ive heard.

to get the most from it, the h-pipe should be before the cat. putting it after would be stupid. the h-pipe should be as close to the collectors as possible.

I dont know how strict they are with emissions over there but technically you are not supposed to modify your exhuast before the cats. If you are running duals then you are most likely doing that anyway. If all you have to pass is a sniffer then I would put it as close as possible, but duals on these cars is not emissions legal because of changing the setup before the cats. The only way I could think of a legal way to do it would be if your car came with dual cats and you ran 2 pipes in the factory location. If you try to do it any other way, you will probably have a tough time fitting cats anway.

there is no harm in messin with the emissions stuff, as long as you dont remove any of it. ... So if say i wanted to run duals i would use 2 cats. I would think that using 2 instead of one does more than a single one. I am not exactly sure on this thoughj... Plus we can have our cars put into a different category for the sniffer test, like the hotrod category. But of course just chjanging your exhaust doesnt make it a hotrod.

Any of you Canaucks have any experience with the e-test? I am going for mine soon and wondered what they do?

This is true....but from emissions standpoint...at least in Kentucky it has to be AFTER the cats.....for performance it should go as close as possible.....

Technically emissions laws are federal not state. According to federal emissions laws it is illegal to modify the exhuast/routing up to the cats. It just depends on how the state enforces it. The h pipe really wouldnt hurt on a sniffer test, but with a visual inspection it could cause you to fail.

Well...its funny about the emissions laws...because I live in Florence KY...which is about 10miles from downtown Cincinnati. Cincinnati doesnt have Echeck.....we do. The county next to me (kenton) has echeck but they do rolling(dyno) checks....we just have the sniffer. In Kenton county...they dont care "where" the cats are...as long as they are on there...but here in Florence, they have to be where they were originally on the car. And here, if you fail 2 or more times, you can pay a $150 waiver, and not have to pass?? wtf?? Emissions laws are however they want them to be...... Personally.....I think the laws are a coverup for the HUGE airport and truckstop here.......I guess 747's coming in 30times a day and 300-400 diesels running in one spot dont make any bad emissions.......plus it was in the paper here that they started doing the e-check to keep getting the federal road money.......so go figure
