Here are some pics of the ypipe that was on my car...I assume that this is the original one but if anyone can has seen an OEM 5.7 TPI before please let me know if it looked like this.

Also what kind of gain can I expect now that I have a 2.5" to 3" Mandrel bent ypipe along with everything else done in my sig.

Don't feel bad poncho, everything from the lowly v6 to the top model v8 got a crappy "y-pipe"... here's what I took off a friends v6... even more sadly, it's the same size as what on my TBI 305...

Was it only the L69 that got the big exhaust, or did the L98 get it too?

You think that's bad, you should see the dual cat version. It's something like 2 1/2 to the cats. Problem is that they make them a tight fit and after you cut the pipes off, you can see why. One of the pipes is smashed almost in half to make it a tight fit. This is an example of what it looks like:

Where as my SLP y-pipe is:

It's crude but it should do the job unless someone actually has pics.

I noticed that too when I put my new dual cat setup on my car this weekend. The driver's side pipe is SMASHED into the passenger side...cutting the inside dia of the pipe in HALF!?!? Why would GM do such a thing??? But the pipe isnt even 2.5 in....its 2.25"
