MagnaFlow on thirdgen?!

Ok I really like the sound of the MagnaFlow exhaust system, problem is they only make them for 4th gens. I know the exhaust are similar. if I buy one will it fit on the 3rd Gen.

comments please

It will fit with some modifications. If you look down on the threads there is a guy who just installed a 4th gen loudmouth system on his car. He will probably tell you everything you need to do to get a 4th gen set-up on your thirdgen.

Sounds good. I plan on getting a magnalfow catback for the 4th gens too. Not a lot of people run magnaflow so it will be different. I will just take it to the exhaust shop and have they guys fab it up to fit my 3rd gen I also plan on getting a qtec electric cutout so if its too quite I can just flip my switch Whenever I get it done I will take pics for you guys.

Please do post the pics. I want to go the magnaflow route too. The way I was going to tackle the problem is buy the 4th gen muffler from Magnaflow and buy the intermediate pipe from flowmaster or somebody. I am not sure if they will split up their kits though. Does anyone know if they will do that?

If anything i would go with the magnaflow pipes, and the flowmaster muffler, thats if your looking for loud.....and ya i'm prett sure they can do that, as long as its the same size inlet and outlet pipes, they can jjst weld it on

I have just the muffler on my T/A. 3" inlet, dual 2.5" outlets. Sounds real nice IMHO. It fit in the OEM spot and used oem style brackets. Here's a pic:

I've got the stainless magnaflow on mine....sounds awesome. It has a nice low rumble at idle but not too loud. When its at W.O.T. you really know it. It roars. The magnaflow also flows about 1100 cfm vs the stock 325 cfm. Lots of improvement. No mods were needed on my muffler too get it to fit. Stock 3 in. in and 2.5 coming out. My friend has the same muffler in the aluminized version on his 2002 WS6 and it sounds great too. Don't be suprized if its not real loud when purchased. They sound better a few months later when the packing burns a little.

can anyone post pictures of how they modified/ or setup the hangers for the tailpipes/ muffler. Since this is probably the most important mod for adapting the 4th gen magnaflow to fit our thirdgens, it would be nice to see a complete picture of the hangers installed, thanks

Just ordered my Magnaflow 15620 from performancepeddler on ebay, I paid 300 shipping included. Now all I need is a good pic of the hangers that were modified.

Well my magnaflow arrived today, cant wait to install it, however I still would like to see how some people hung the tail pipes, and the over the Axle pipe that attaches to the intermediate pipe, so please can somone post some pics. Ive seen the ones already posted, but they dont show exactly what I need to look at. Thanks in advance.
