hooker super comp LT's..which starter?

well my motor is finished and im test fitting my headers before dropping it in...and the passenger side header wont clear the adjustable position mini-starter i bought, even when i adjust it to every available position!

how the %*#@ did you guys get your Hooker long tubes to clear the starter? what starter are you guys going with? im looking at aftermarket high-torque mini starters...but cant find one that clears

HELP!!!

I use an AC delco 1994-1997 LT-1 T-56 starter. I have plenty of room and I have Coated 1 3/4" Hooker Super Comp Long tube headers.

The LT-1 six-speed starter IS a gear reduction light starter with good torque (good for upto 11:1 compression easily). Why spend more money when the above will do the job perfectly AND clear the headers at the same time!!

its already been said, but yea, the GM style ministarter is what you need.

i got (probly the same) multi position ministarter.... wouldnt clear my headers...

i eventually gave up and shipped it back to summit and got the summit ministarter... works great.

I used a newer GM downsized starter. It gives a bit more clearance and should cut down on heat soak.

I am using a CSI ministarter with no problems and the fitment is fine with the long tubes.

This was the same question I was just coming to ask! If an LT1 starter is what works, maybe I'll look for one of those.
