Exhaust Noise
Exhaust Noise
Just had the exhaust replaced on My 1992 Camaro RS. It needed everything from the Catalytic Converter Back. I just replaced the original pipes and muffler with a stock replacement type found at my local parts store. The problem is my exhaust is incredibly loud now and all exhaust seems to come out of the pipe on the drivers side of the car. On the passengars side of the car the tailpipe does not stick out as far as the drivers and little exhaust compared to the drivers side is coming out. Could the muffler be installed backwords or something?
On the old muffler which I am guessing is stock. The Center pipe connects to the inlet near the front of the car and the right tailpipe connects to the outlet near the rear of the car. On this new exhaust the inlet is towards the rear and outlet is towards the front. Hince making the tail pipe on the passengars side shorter then the one on the right?
Any suggestions on why my exhaust is so screwy would be apperciated

You could look at the muffler, look at the inlet pipe, then look to the adjacent side, and if the pipe is lined up with it. its more than likely installed wrong. Here is a really crappy pic i made fast.
A should be inlet
B Are the 2 outlets.
IF they put inlet on the b side, it would flow out the opposite b side, causing louder sound, and more to come out driver side pipe
