Hooker 2055's and the 40 series??
I purchased my headers from Dave at ACS a couple of days ago and now I am looking for a 40 series flowmaster to mate with it. Can anyone give me the correct model number? I am unsure of myself and I want to buy the correct one.
Also, is it worth my wild to purchase locking header bolts? This will be my first attempt at a header install and I am trying to figure out what to expect.
I am hoping to be able to accomplish this install without having to raise up my engine on a jack... I have never done that before so I would be really nervous trying it.
My motor is a regular old LO3 for now, but I am trying to get prepared for a 350 next summer.

Easiest way to install these headers: When the engine is on the engine stand. You can even put in the spark plugs then.
That's what I did, and don't regret it (had the engine out for the other mods). It took me almost a year to collect all the pieces, so waiting a year from now to install your headers isn't a bad option.
Locking header bolts does sound pretty "wild"...
(FWIW, I don't have them, tightened the header bolts for the first time after 2 years.)

So should I forgo the locking header bolts then? I don't want them falling off in traffic.

They don't have a "tongue-in-cheek" smiley...
Locking bolts are a good idea. Just not absolutely necessary.
Lifting the engine is pretty much standard when doing an in-car install.

Maybe I'm just too paranoid?

You will be fine. The best advise I can give you is don't go and try and do it in one day. Take your time, and when you get frustrated, walk away and come back later. Believe me it helps.

I think that I am going to try to pull off the a/c and smog stuff in one afternoon. I figure that that is a pretty reasonable expectation.
As for the headers and exhaust... I'll start it on a Saturday and if I have to, finish it on Sunday. I am hoping that with all the crap removed from the passenger side, it will make installing that one header a lot easier. Of course... I could be wrong

now hooker lt's? yeah those go in as ur droppin the motor in...

I am looking for a shop around here to do it, but I haven't managed to find one yet. I have called 4. If I have to vent the damn gas myself I will... but I want to try to do it responsibly first
As for the headers, they are not lt's, the are 2055 shorties with the Y pipe.

*UPDATE*
Headers should be in soon, and I decided against the flowmaster 40 series. It just seemed like it would become annoying, besides the fact that everyone and the brother has one. So instead I am going to be purchasing the Hooker Aerochamber catback.
I got my A/C delete pully in the mail yesterday and I am expecting my a/c delete heater box in the next few days. It's all starting to come together. Muwahahahahaha
Now all I need is a longer serpentine belt, header bolts, the catalytic converter and the cat back. My girlfriend is getting a little flustered by all the car parts showing up at the front door.
