ok i found this on jegs, http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...59&prmenbr=361
the one in the middle, and a Y-Pipe to match it
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...15&prmenbr=361
is their going to be any complications with this combo ?
also what is the stock pipe diameter on my car? i need a reducer from the 3" to stock piping.

The hooker 2055's are smog legal. They have air, 1 5/8 inch primarys and a 3 inch collector. Edelbrock also has some, the 6872's. Those are the ones I recently picked up. They have air, 1 5/8 inch primarys and 3 inch collectors. You can find those at Summit. I think Mac makes some too.

The CARB EO# for the 2055's applies to '86-'90 TPI single cat applications only.
Whether or not that would be an issue for you at smog time depends upon the detail anality of the inspektor you draw.

yeah lol. I dont want to put the heat riser thing back on since I have an open element. You know if I will pass Ca smog with an open element? Its gonna be a pain in the a$$ if we fail smog and have to put those logs back on. But these headers should help us out at the next meet

If you are going to put on a set of hedders I would do it when you can get rid of the stock cat and cat back as well. It would be pointless to have a 3" collector with a fabbed up 2.25" reducer to mate to the stock cat and piping on a TBI car. I would get either a direct bolt in 3" TPI cat or go with a 3" slip fit and have the fab work done to the side that attaches to the cat-back. It is almost easeier and cheaper in the long run to replace the whole system at once.

actually shifty, i have a 3" electric cutout, and all i wanted is headers, 3" Ypipe, welded to my 3" cutout and after that, go back to 2.5" from the cat back.
that way, with it wide open, i have full 3" exhaust, and the only time it will be closed is when neccessary.. smog/cops etc.. where max power isnt an issue.
