Question on the 2055???

Ok i looked at buying the hooker 2055's online at summit and the picture shows no y pipe. I thought it came with one? Am i mistaken or is it a seperate part # that i need. I was also wondering if i should order the ceramic coated ones for over $600, or ship it somewhere to get it done?

They come with a y-pipe. If you look closely there is a little dissclamer under the pics on summit and jegs that state "objects in picture may not relfect actual product." I would call the guys at ASC (site sponser at the top of this page) and order them directly from them if you wanted them coated. You will spend much less that way.

FWIW, you can also buy 2055's directly from jet-hot, pre-coated with jethots coating.

That is funny. Where do people come up with stuff like this? Just because ACS is a sponsor doesn't mean their quality is better than jethot. If anything, jethot is the superior coating, and with their discount you get for being a thirdgen.org member it doesn't cost much more either.

Site sponsorship means very little to me, I got a few bucks off at ACS for being a TGO member but nothing that would make me choose them over Jethot if I thought they were superior.

It's common business sense...

Small company, attention to detail, great customer service, reasonable prices.

Would you buy a PC from compusa for $1500 when you could get the same thing (or maybe better) from a proven hometown shop for $1000?

Not trying to flame you or anything because we could argue over coating quality all day. Ultimately it's all about what you like best for your car.

The only problems with JetHot I've heard involve "special circumstances", where the customer was being a jerk about their expectations. So far, I haven't heard anybody complain about ACS.

The Hooker coating, however, seems to have had some ligitimate complaints.

Order direct from JetHot or ACS, you shouldn't be disappointed.

A larger company like jethot has the money and resources to formulate a better coating. Small companies do not, although most of the time the smaller company has better customer service. Jet hot's coating was first designed for nasa. I'll also say that ACS never replied to any of my emails and Jethot not only responded quickly, but even sent me an entire info packet and video on their coatings. Impressive to say the least. BTW, if anyone is interested Jethot offers a 20% discount to TGO members.

I also had an issue, where myself and another member both ordered in the same shipment (to save some $$$, jothot gave us a great deal for ordering two) his Y-Pipe had to be returned, there was a core charge to him, because he wanted the new one, before returning the old one. Anyway, they charged my card because it was the card on file with the order. I saw the charge and called them. There were great about it. Returned the money imediatly, AND not only that, they sent me a very nice thank you card, apoligising again, along with a healty gift cirtificate, and a whole bunch of jet-hot magnets, sticky notes, ect.

I was very impressed with how they handled the situation. I would recoment jet-hot to anyone.

BTW, the problem with the y-pipe, was actualy Holley's, and JetHot took it all on themselfs to clear it up, and send out a new Y-Pipe.

I was going to mention the time they had email problems, but decided not to. But, since you mentioned it, they did have an email outage for about a week. Like that never happens to big companies, either.

Not trying to recommend one over the other, just trying to be fair.
