Headers for my 91 Z

ok, i'm looking into getting some headers for my car. i have limited funds and was looking at the Hooker 2055's until i figured out that my car has dual cats. i would like to know if it would be easier(and cheaper) to just run a single cat, or should i go with the SLP's for dual cats and fab up a y-pipe. i'm not looking at spending more than $500 if possible.

I also have a friend that works at a muffler shop so i'm getting all the work done professionally and for free.

Also, the exhaust is stock with the exception of a Flowmaster 80 series muffler.

You might consider the Hedman 68491.

If you are getting such a good deal I would get the 2055's and just run a single cat. Dual cats are expensive when you want to replace them and a sinlge 3" high flow cat is more than adequete performance wise. If you need to retain the dual cats for smog inspection I would look at the hedmans like Five7Kid mentioned.

Here's another recent discussion about dual cats.
