To me it was more of a pain in the butt to put in my shorties than it would be to install long tubes. I have 1 5/8" and I will be switching to the 1 3/4" longs soon. I just installed shorties on my son's 95Z28. That was a royal pain in the butt big time. You cant even begin to know what we went through to get those on the LT1. When it was over it didnt even make much difference in the sound either. Got to take the cats out I guess.

Picard, the first time I looked under the hood of the 4th gens, I remember thinking of how much it reminded me of a van (OK radiator:check accessories:check engine:hmmm, where is that thing... there it is, waaay back there). I bet that was fun!

being that his is a 89 ta not a 4th gen i would say to go with the shorties man its not that hard to install at all takes some patience and a couple hours to do but itll make a difference

Shorties should be the first bolt on that anyone with a thirdgen attempts.
You'll feel and hear a noticible difference in performance.

I'm in the same boat as Borsty with the exception that I have a '90 TPI 305.
I could see a 350 getting a good boost because they breath more air, but do 305's really get as much bang for the buck?
Thanks,
Don
