V6 Exhaust

I have a v6 in my car and i was wondering if there are any really cheap ways of getting rid othe rasp or whatevey you call it when i let off the gas at high revs. I don't wan't my car to be loud just not sound so much like a **** burner. I have a V8 that will be installed a soon as i can afford the parts.

dont worry about the sound of it now then worry about buying the parts to put that v8 in it ......the only true way to get rid of the rasp sound that your car is putting out is to put a v8 in it.....LMAO

Do you have a cat? Is your exhaust too big for your V6? These are the two main things that contribute to rasp and annoying resonance.

well again the biggest annoyance about this car is that the idiot who had the car before my sister welded the whole exhaust system together. the only thing not welded is where the Y pipe mates to the manifold

nothing wrong with welding things together especially when you get rid of a cat ...but it sucks for people who want to reinstall one later on

Kinda off topic but will a exhaust leak around the manifold cause a loss in power? i ask cause i had one and after i fixed it it seems to me that there is more power available at low RPMs is that a realistic thing or is it all in my head?
