Ture duel idea
I was wondering if anybody has done this and if it would work. It seems too simple so that what worries me. First of all my car has a T 5. I want to do two long tube headers then bolt a set of Flow Tech purple hornies with turn downs right to the headers. Will this work or will there be things in the way and what kind of long tubes would be the best. I was in a previous post that said hookers were the best with the T 5. Which hookers long tubes are they then? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

well right off the bat I can think of 2 things that might be a problem: muffler clearance and exhaust leaking into the car..

Yea I figured as much. Just though I would ask. 88Iroc I see in your sig that you have true duels and are in the Jersey area. how much did they cost and how complicated were they to have done.

i have true dual exhaust on my car with an h-pipe using the hedman longtubes and the Summit Racing chambered mufflers.
headers>hedman x-tensions>h-pipe>summit mufflers.
you can't use the hedman lt's though with a t5. the hooker headers are AWESOME but they are somewhat expensive.

My old dual setup was homemade and just temporary. It sucked in my opinion. Horrible ground clearance and loud inside and out of the car. Just last weekend I went back to single 3" exhaust. May be a little restrictive but atleast I can drive around and hear myself think.
Check out the dual exhaust sticky at the top of the forum. LOTS of pics, including 2 of my dual setups
I also am going back to single exhaust though. After doing 2 dual setups for my car because of header changes, I don't wanna go thru the hassle of making another one yet.

And the Board has a rule against using the tech forums for "dueling".

I called up a local exhaust shop today that does a lot of muscle cars and they said that I would be better off ith doing a 3 inch single exhaust with short tube headers. They were sayin that it wouldnt be much of a diference from the true duels and it would be a lot easier.
