Edelbrock Ti-Tech Headers
Has anyone bought these yet? If so, what are your impressions? I'm seriously thinking of getting some, I was going to go with the ceramic, but this new coating is supposed to last longer and retain its finish. The good thing about the Ti-Tech is that the Y-pipe is also finished unlike the ceramic pair.
Hi v8nate92RS,
I had mine installed a few days ago by a mechanic. It was put on my 88 305 TPI trans am. and although they estimated it would take them 2.5 hours. They pretty much spent about 10 hours.
THey said it was a very tight fit on the passenger side. Anyway I must say I like it
I have not really accelerated hard yet since my back muffler is on the verge of falling off!!! So I will wait till friday. I should have the hooker cat back system on by then.

Sweet man! How much did the install run you? What's the finish like on those things? You should post some pics and sound/movie clips.

Why are you replacing SLP headers with Edelbrock stuff? The SLP headers are much better.
I noticed a nice overall improvement with the TES. However i cant tell you how they compare to others. Only people who have used different headers on the same car can! Everything else is just speculation, in my opinion.

smokefan what is it about your setup that causes your SLP's not to fit well? I was thinking about getting a set of them, i am sick of replacing headder to Y pipe gaskets. And yes I put em in warm the car up torque them again drive it for like a day or so and torque them again. then a few months later I do it again.

People need to stop saying the Edelbrock headers are "crap" because they are far from it. Secondly, the Ti-Tech headers ARE TES HEADERS, the Ti-Tech is just a coating. Like it or not, the TES are the only true direct-fit, plug and play, emission legal headers. My buddy that has the nickel plated TES put them on after his Hooker 2055 set finally pissed him off from all the leaks. Not to mention the pain in the *** it was to install those hookers. His TES just slipped right in, even around the AC bracket that everyone says is a horrible fit. Maybe in the beginning the TES weren't the best, but now they are just as good as any other header kit...probably better than most for emission cars.

I never said the Ede headers are crap.. just not as good as the SLP headers. They are a massive improvement over cast iron manifolds for sure.

rad8tion the slp headers i am using has fitment problems with the moroso oil pan. i have talked to people who have used slp headers along with the oil pan and most of them (9 out of 10) say the same thing. they also went with different headers and they say that they fit better than the slp's. some guys went with headman and others went with edelbrock. i have a set of edelbrock's on my pickup and i like them so i decided to go with them again. i also went with the ti-tech casue i hate the look of headers when they turn. and v8nate92rs i am not knocking them like others have done before cause from personal experience i like the edelbrock. kinda makes you wonder about slp fitments since they are the ones who came up with the 1le and ss packages
