replacement quiestions
On my 85 Berlinetta, the pipe from the cat to the muffler is completley rusted, and holes keep cropping up. the muffler looks alright. I wanted to take it to a custom exhaust place and get a cat back, but my mechanic says its a waste of money. that pipe costs 44$, and he wants to reuse the muffler. Should I do this, or go with the aftermarket? Also, are there any aftermarket hi flow mufflers that will connect on the stock location to the origional exhaust tubing?

Any cat-back exhaust system should contain the new piping you need.
With a 2.8 you won't get much of a power gain, and the noise might get annoying with something aftermarket.
Personally I'd save the stock muffler and just put new piping on it.
