Headers with different heads

I have a question. it may seem stupid to many ppl, but i've never came acrossed it to ask before. Lets say i get some trick flow or ARP heads for my L98 could i still use the same headers with those heads or will they not fit? so to simplify the question, with after market heads do i need different headers?

Not usually, unless you buy exotic racing heads or something. Some headers might have spark plug clearance issues with some angle plug heads though, but nothing major.

sweet. i'm thinking of getting the ARP heads and i just wanted to double check. right now i have some headers on that totally don't fit right so i'm gonna get some new ones. what do u think would give me more power to the wheels shorties with 1 3/3 runner or long tubes( is what i have now) with 1 5/8?

Unless you feel like doing all the fab work and giving up the ground clearance required for long tubes, stick with the shortys.

i wouldn't mind doing some fab work. i found 3" mandrel bent universal exhuast piping from flowmaster and i have my own welder and garage. i'm just wondering if going with the shorties will make me less power.

hedman long tubes dont have ground clearance issues.,

hookers are closer to the ground than anything else afaik

hedman footnotes say something about using with angle plug(aluminum) though, not sure what the deal is there

good luck

The ground clearance issues with Hedmans aren't from the headers themselves, but from the rest of the exhaust system.
