? about slp loudmouths

after hearing the loudmouths on a ls1 i was really likeing it, so my question is, the loudmouth is pretty much just a resonator isn't it? how much does it differ from a glass pack? i want something that sounds good and loud, my 80series sounds nice but maybe when i add my headers, and 3" exhaust it will be better.

these are shorty headers so what would you guys recommend pipe size from the header to the y-pipe? 2.5?

its only a 305 maybe thats why it won't sound that great.

the slp. this is not my experience talking here, but the guys over at ls1tech.com say that with with headers, the original loudmouth(not the loudmouth 2) is extremely loud. But if that's what you are looking for then go ahead.

I think there is a clip of a 305 with the loudmouth under the exhaust sound clips sticky. The only other thing I can say to help you is that the resonator is just a hollow tube while glasspacks have baffles.

here's the link

the description makes it seem loud.

That clip sounds about dead on with my set up. Check my sig. A stock 305 is still a great platform to work from with an exhaust system. You can get a killer sound if done right.

I had no idea that SLP made a muffler like that. That looks very nice and drooly...I wonder if that would sound any different than my current set up

I have a bullet muffler 3inch in and out, but that SLP looks dead sexy

the lm is nothing more than a glorified peice of pipe. $100 for a foot. And it does nothing really. I will NEVER own one.

spend $30 on a bullet and get way better sound and be happy. Or just get straight pipes.

so is the lm even a resonator itself or what does it actually look like on the inside?

Yeah I guess you're right, I am paying the extra 40 dollars just for the SLP logo I guess...

I am happy with the bullet.

Infact I am so happy with the bullet I am thinking of gutting that toasted cat. converter I have and replacing it with another bullet muffler...hmmm the possibilities....my car has been out of service for 3 days now, I hope to get it back running in just a few minutes...

But anyway Urban hunter would you think my car would sound any different with a bullet muffler in place of a cat. converter. I live in an emmissions area but I dont care, I passed my emmissions just recently and wont have to go back for another year. I might still pass because I have a few friends who completely gutted their cat and still passed emmissions...

Its like running straight pipes

my 80 series with stock exhaust w/o a cat and 2 1/2 pipe gets real raspy doesn't sound good in low rpms, think a set of headers and 3in exhaust will fix it?
