Hedman SHorty Headers

Does Anybody Own THese Headers? DO They Perform Good? I Seen ALot Of Third Gen Owners With Hookers, But Hardly Any With Hedman

I have the hedman shorties on my camaro. they seem to flow good. I bought the Y-pipe also. Mine are kinda old but they still look like new and they are still quiet(no leaks).

i have them as well. i didnt know it before i bought them but the y pipe narrows to 2.5 inches. and most people like to go for a full 3 inches. to be totally honest you arent gonna lose much power from that. but then agian it also depends on plans for the car. even a stock L98 will run fine with them. if you can, get the non-emissions legal headers and get rid of the smog crap as it cleans up a LOT of room in the engine bay.

I used them on my LT1 swap. I like them alot. I put them on when I swapped the motor so I don't know how much of a difference they made. Mine are specifically made for angle plug heads and D-port exhaust. The only problem I have is that the back tube on the passenger side was to close to the heater/AC box and has melted part of it but they are not normal 3rd gen headers. I get a lot of compliments on them because I went ahead and spent the extra $ and got the ceramic coated ones. I had a muffler shop make me a custom 3 inch Y-pipe.

I have them and I like them... fairly easy spark plug access with straight plugs (even better with angled I bet), the Y-pipe fits up nice and tight under the car (although mine was cut at the Y to takea 3" pipe), and I didnt have to remove anything to install them, except for the drivers side valve cover. They litterally dropped in. I haven't had any heat soak problems with the starter either, the header on the PS seems to have alot of clearance from the starter. They perform really well too, although I haven't tried anything else in this car except stock manifolds, so I can't say they are better than any other comparable headers. They made a huge difference on my 350 though, and will be staying on it for some time.

I don't know if you are in a smog inspection/testing area in Wasco, but be extremely careful if you are. Hedman only has two choices for emissions-legal hedders, one each for single and dual cat models (can't tell from your profile which you have). They run in the $350-$400 range. The $250 Hedmans & y-pipe won't cut it.

on mine I did think that the pass side was too close to the ac box. I put some of that heat barrier on the box to try to prevent any melting.

I had nothing but problems with hedman headers. I couldnt keep them from leaking and I didnt think they flowed that well. I got alot more flow out of SLP headers and i have no leaks.

Is this the Y pipe you're talking about?http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...1535&langId=-1 I thought it was 2.5" where the collectors were and 3" on the straight piece?

2.5" on the straight piece with an adapter to 3" to fit a 3" slip-fit inlet cat.
