Hedman long tubes, t5, I know
Ihave been trying to decide what to do with my exhaust. I don't have to worry about an inspeciton sticker (already got one), and I don't have that much money, so I was going to buy the hedman longtubes for 135, and put xtensions on them, and maybe put glasspacks on them, until I get a ticket. I wanted to know how much of a pain it is with a t5, and do I need a smaller starter? I also have es motor mounts. I know you have to grind a little off of the bellhousing, i'm fine with that. I currently have hedman shorties that came with the car, but I read about the y pipe, and I dont have a welder, also I think the custom subframe connectors, wont clear a single 3" exhaust ran to the back, but they might. thanks

You should do what I did for awhile... On your headers, put a straight 3" tube to about the middle of the door, put in a small turbo-style muffler, and then a turn out to dump out the side by the rear tires. Worked great for me, and sounded very nice. It was never loud enough to get me a ticket either.
Purple Hornies (Flowtech) might also be an option for you. They are basically just glasspacks with a 3-bolt header flange on one side, and a turnout on the other. Would work nice, but they are NOT subtle

I think I might be going with the purple hornies, or the redhots. I want to see how the glasspacks will sound. Then I will put mufflers on when I get sick of it. All depending on how hard long tubes are to install.
