It's really entirely personal prefence as to what kind of sound you want. I personally like a 2.5" piping coming from headers going into a magnaflow muffler.

With improvements like you have, you def need headers, a nice y pipe, and a quality catback. I have heard good things about hooker catbacks, Slp makes a good one, and I am going to go with the Banks catback that they make for our cars. You should see a decent improvement with a full exhaust, as the stock setups are very restrictive on our cars.

Get stuff designed for '86-'90 TPI single cat applications. Or, if you go dual cats, stuff designed for dual cats (reduces the choices, however).

Hooker 2460 Headers with 1 5/6" Primaries and the Y-pipe for it , Hooker 16767 with the Hooker H.O Catback, Hooker 16823. best Bang for your buck IMO.

I have the hooker catback on my iroc, and i love it. Even with the gutted cat, it has a nice rumble to it at idle that's not too loud, and it sounds mean when you get on it. It's still not exactly cop magnet loud, but sounds damn nice

The y-pipe for the 2460 headers is 2-1/2" at the cat. A restriction that will be expensive to rectify.

2460's seem low cost when all you look at is their price, but by the time you get the y-pipe, which ain't cheap, which is restrictive and will cost even more to modify to "fix", you could have gotten 2055's which have the best y-pipe available for our cars.
