Headers for 92 305 TBI

Ok I just got have completly redone my drietrain on my 1992 Camaro RS. I got a complete 3in Catback Exhaust. No emissons including no cat. But I bought a new stock y-pipe from auto zone b/c my old one was all rusted and would take away from that nice new look of the rest of the new exhaust. And I reused my exhaust manifolds but as I said before removed the air tubing that went into them. I also have a comp cam(part # 08-500-8)along with many other mods with total 305 TBI rebuilt engine. But I am not satisfied on how it sounds. I thought the cam + 3in cat-back exhaust would make a large improvement ,and it did ,just not enough you know what I mean? So I want to purchase some headers that will bolt right up to the y-pipe, if that is possible? But could someone please tell me on what headers I should get or anything else I could do. Thanks,
Cory Mohr

The stock exhaust manifolds and y-pipe are the most restrictive parts on your car. You need to replace them both. I would look into a header kit like the Hooker 2055's. That kit will come with headers and a 3" y-pipe. Get ready for some chip work. With headers and a cam it is 100% necessary that you do it.

Ok thanks I will at those. How did you do your tuning to your chip? Please don't tell me just to go the prom tuning section b/c I still don't get it after reading it all 5 times.
Thanks,

Burning a new chip requires a chip eraser, burner, lap top, ALDL cable and software. You can have all the stuff for $200 or so (can be more depending on what you buy). You run your car and watch live feedback from the ECM. You basically look at a bunch of parameters (fuel, spark, injector stuff, volumertic efficiency) and you tailor the parameters to match your new combos. My advice is to keep reading. You will start to get the hang of it.
