Hedman headers vs. Edelbrock TES

I've seen many posts about the Edelbrock being crap. I'm wondering if they got better lately.

I'm asking because I ordered some Hedmans in mid-december last year and still haven't them!!!
I ordered the correct application for the dual catalytic converter. Probably they don't have enough orders at this time to build them and are waiting for more.

Now, should I still wait or should I change my order to the Edelbrock's?

Thanks
Patrik

I have the edelbrock tes nickel/chrome coated shorties and there single 3" y pipe, running into a long 3" bullet muffler, then a pipe running back and dumping that was about 3 feet long, sounded amazing and works better than any exhaust out there, for cheaper. This setup is good for up to 450 hp before you would really lose any hp, I have 1 3/4" primaries on myne, I ordered them in june of 04. The collector design is great, small enough to keep up the velocity, which is important for keeping your mileage up. I had a few things done, check the website. But with bolting these on, at the track I went from a 15.1 to 13.8 the first day at the track, 11 runs later, I would recommend these over any hedmans for sure. They also look cool when they change colors slightly(blueing).

The engine will remain nearly stock, but I'm thinking of switching later to a 350!
but for sure I will stay below 450hp

Go with the Edlebrock over the Headman ones . They got skinny littel flanges on them Here is a pic . I was getting the 66681 ( I think that was the ceramic ones) then they told me they were discontinued for some reason . So I got my 800 back and got some SLP 1 3/4 . But I would ( If I could choose between the two ) go with the Edlebrock units .

So it doesn't really matter witch one I choose?

I think they both got the 1 5/8 primaries?!

Put the TES on my 88, one thing I do like about these is the spark plug clearance. The tubes all curve around so there is a good inch clearance from the tip of the plug. Angle plugs would clear easy. No problems with heat at the plug boots. Pretty well satisfied with my set. Need to bend a bracket or two, as the instructions call out, and the Y-pipe is a real close fit at the oil pan, but it does clear when it's just right. All hardware is included, very complete. Only thing I did different was to make a heat shield at the brake lines under the master cylinder, several lines real close to the headers. Watch for this with whatever you buy.

I had zero problems with my hedmans in two years as a daily driver. That was with a couple of good hits to the y-pipe from stuff in the road.
