Well, as we all know the gmmg system costs ALOT but has anyone heard of these?

Chambered Mufflers, Power Sticks, exhaust, exhaust systems

I really doubt anyones tried it on here, since i think only a few people have tried the gmmg, but right now i have a small cam with headers and true 2.5 in duals going into two super 40 flows, which dont get me wrong, sound really good for being a throttle body engine, but it would be nice to have somthing thats a little more origional, but mainly sounds wicked. The flowmasters have a little bit of popping i dont like somtimes and are "airy"


So do those look legit?

I have looked into these because i was planning on building my own gmmg. I think they look good, i think it says on their website these are used on older muscle cars too. I think they would sound pretty good, also the sound clips on the website sound pretty good.

* the web site you have has them but i also saw another web site, i think its like the official website for them, it has more information about them and sound clips too. I dont have it anymore but ill find it.

* ok this is just anyother web site about them but i think this one has more info. and sound clips.

The guy that makes the Powersticks used to work for Walker/Dynamax. He was there when they discontinued the Dynomax Turbo Tube, and decided to go into business for himself making the chambered style muffler. They do sound very good. They are not all "poppy" like a glasspack (or the 1000's of newer model pickups running around with the pipes cut off at the cats!) The are deep and somewhat mellow at idle, but when you kick it, they sound off!! Very powerful sounding. I had some sound clips of a friend's Nova that had them. If I can dig them up, I'll pass it along.

I've been looking into these since i want 1. no tailpipes showing, 2. something different than everything else and 3. cop loving loud

I contacted them and for 52.95 shipped to colorado i am going to give one a try it will be run in the stock position 3" in/3" out, more than likely pretty short tailpipe or a dump right off of the muffler....All behind a set of edelbrock tes headers and ypipe, 3" cat, 3" intermediate, nicely ported heads and a comp 450/480 lift cam, i think its gonna bark the way i want it to....I'll keep yall posted, car should be fired no later than early may if all goes well

I am also looking into these to replace my Super 40's. I don't mind my Super 40s but I don't really like the "airy", "tinny", whatever-ya-wanna-call-it Flowmaster sound all too much. I want something more throaty and authorative but yet not with anymore interior resonance than these already have(which isn't too bad).

Im in the proccess of building my dual 3" over the axle and im using two 19" power sticks. It should be done is a couple weeks and ill be posting plenty of video!!

Anyone know if these are the same ones they sell in Summit as chamberd exhaust? Summit has them 30" long for $109.95 each. They are made by Stainless Works and are, you guessed it, stainless steel. I'm thinking about running these off a set of Hooker LT's and dumping it out the side infront of the rear wheel. What do u guys think? This will be on my 91 Formula. If I dont run these I was thinking of the Spintech Pro-Street mufflers as they are only 4" deep. I want something that will tuck way up. One last question, if I run SFC's, do you think I can dump it out the side and still retain ground clearance?

i'm in the process of converting my 80 series american thunder flowmaster catback into a single powerstick catback.

i'm using the existing piping and will put a 20inch body powerstick behind the cat in the I pipe region.

for now i'll run the over the axle pipe as is, and eventually take it to a shop and get it split into dual exits like the factory style mufflers.

Im in the process of trying to fab up the single in, dual out one, only problem is its 36 inches and im trying to put it in the stock place. But my friend has a welder so im going to just cut off the extra piping on the ends for slipping it on since i can just weld it, then it should be fine, im going to fab up a 2 tailpipes with some creative welding.

tricked out toy doesnt have powersticks, or atleast i'm not sure but he has true 3inch dual with short 18inch body Chambered tubes which is what a powerstick is

So would this be louder than the conventional catback type exhaust systems we usually see? Or could you use multiple ones to make it quiet? I'm trying to build the best performing but also quiet setup for my IROC-Z.

Ya mine are power sticks, they arent routed like most ppl tho, instead of mounting them in the stock location I put them were you would normally have your tail pipes. I think thats why there are soo LOUD! if you want something quite make sure you put a few more bends in there cause a straight back system like mine will get you a ticket before you even get out of your driveway!

I bought mine here Classic Chambered Exhaust Inc. - Home Page funny little side story when i ordered them the guy there had this really thick southern acent and would talk really slow, when he tried to run my debit card through for $137 he charged it for $13,700! haha well once we got that straight they were great to deal with and the shipping was quick.

That was probably Keith @ Torque Tech in GA. They are my best dealer.

As far as the Stainless Works mufflers (for sale in Jegs/Summit), those are not Powerstick mufflers. SW uses packing inside their mufflers to absorb sound - don't know why since all the OE chambered exhaust NEVER had packing. Defeats the whole purpose of true chambered exhaust.

Dang, didnt realize i made that first post over 2 years ago,

Anyways, I got the short power stick. Exhaust starts out with hedman shorties, into true dual 2.5in untill about middle of door, then single 3 inch for about a foot, then into the powerstick, then exiting with about a foot or two out each side in front of the rear tires out 4th gen tips...]

SOUNDS FRICKIN AWSOME!!! Sounds ALOT like an lt1 with gmmg. Im satisfied. I finally got that loud exhaust ive always wanted without that annoying ratty farm truck clang.. Engine is a tbi 355 with lt1 speced cam, so its a very mild engine but it barks pretty damn loud. Anything over half to 3/4 throttle barks pretty good.

Ill try and get a good sound clip, seems most clips for the powersticks on the net have a shitty camera

I recently had my exhaust redone with all madndrel 2.5in bends, custom X pipe, and when I showed up the guy doing it was getting ready to put 2 "turbo flow" mufflers on it! I said "HELL NO" and had him put the chambered mufflers back on, these things still sound flat out killer. I had a friend drive my car up into the driveway for me a while back and the car is really quiet idling, he decided to stab it before he shut it down and it will nearly pop your ears standing by the pipes. That's EXACTLY what I think a good muscle car exhaust should do, mellow and grumbly driving around, the gates of hades when you stab it!

Same here, I have one running alongside the driveshaft, and it goes over the axle into a summit turbo muffler. The sound is badass at WOT.
