1 3/4 inch shortys

Just to clarify what I have been researching. Are the only shorty 1 3/4 inch headers availabe either new or used the SLP?
Thanks

Correct. Your other option for 1 3/4 primaries is to go with long tubes.

If you go custom, go 1 7/8 shorties... Someone did that a while back

1 7/8 shorties, I'd like to see a picture of that!

What is your setup? You are probably better off with a good set of 1 3/4 Long Tubes than 1 3/4 shorties, unless this is class racing. 1 7/8 long tubes can get pricey, but 1 3/4 are available for a good price. I just got 1 3/4 LTs for my '97, along with a Y-pipe and paid $425 shipped from summit. Just stay away from anything 1 5/8 if you're planning on real power.

shortys

I know I will give up a few ponies with shorties but I really dont care. Its going to make enough power (525/550 on desktop dyno) that I can afford the loss in exchange for the advantages shortys offer. I just wanted to make sure there wasnt something out there I was missing.
Thanks
Roy

But , a header that big and TPI , would be a bad idea/mismatch .

Stock TPI, I would agree. However with a high flowing setup and very good heads it is not out of the question. Me, I'm going with a custom 1 3/4" setup for my current buildup.
