I put edelbrock shorty headers on my car and it was still a real pain. It is still worth it because you gain some top end horse power.

Shorties are gonna be easier. Not to mention how you can find y pipes and catbacks and not have to make anything custom.
I have found the headman shorties pretty easy to install. The general consensus is that the flowtech (summit and dynomax brand are the same) headers are the easiest to install, but the quality of those ones leave a little to be desired.

I'm sure you can get the shorties in without lifting the motor, but taking the extra 5min to unbolt the engine and jack it up a little will make it a whole lot easier. Also when I switched to longtubes it wasn't that much harder than the shorties. But like other people said it will be harder with the y-pipe and the rest of the exhaust back.

Johnny Boy!!!!!!!!!! lol
i have hedman shorty headers, and are very easy to install. they just slip right in, i have to jack the car up to bolt the y-pipe to the headers but never touched the motor for anything to be installed.
