Maybe its just the die-hard GM in me but I can't stand the stang sound. I have always loved the deep rumble of SBCs. I think what got me addicted to that sound was when we were 16, me and a buddy built up his 78 GMC 350with sone nice heads, high rise intake, hooker longpipes, and true dual 3inch pipes with glasspacks. It sounded great to us then but I still prefer the tuned accurate sound of a fuel injected motor with good exhaust.

All you who say stangs sound better are heretics and should be (j/k)

That 4th gen Klortho posted gave me w00d.

Here's a pic of the firing orders. Any resemblence?

I have an '03 Marauder with the same exhaust as the Mustangs. The 5.7 is louder at idle, the Marauder is louder down the road. All the advertisements say the exhaust sound was designed into the cars for the Fords. It was meant to sound like that from the get go.

i really need to make some vids of my T/A.. cammed 355 with TD's and flow 40's

inside the car while driving it sounds like a pissed off mustang, under load it sounds insane.

I'm getting new tires in a few weeks so i'm planning on having a smokeshow to finish off my old ones.. i'll make sure to post the vids

I still love the way my Mustang sounds over my GTA but the GTA will sure give it a stomping though

Personally i think mustangs' exhaust sound wimppy i know when im at a stop light next to a stang getting ready to race and he revs his engine and i rev mine, i think mine always blows them out of the water and all i have on it right now is a low end flowmaster muffler.

my dads mach 1 with stock exhaust sounds meaner than my 5.7 esp when he revs it, my friends 03 corba definitly sounds meaner but when we go at it all u can hear is the whin of the super charger til he gets a decent way ahead and his exhaust still sounds good from far

A buddy of mine has a 69 SS Camaro. It has a Lingenfelter 355 with a Comp 280 Magnum cam, nothing radical.

For exhaust he has 1 3/4" headers flowing in to a 2 1/4" Flowmaster dual system. The mufflers are located in front of the rear axle. The car sounds every bit as good as a Mustang. I think the key is locating the mufflers where the exhaust still has velocity and the diameter of the pipe not too big.

People will argue that the motor will lose power. It may lose some but for sound quality at idle, part and full throttle, it cannot be beat.

BTW - I have a Mufflex 4" on my car without cats and I think it sounds like S*^T. It actually sounds better when I have the cats on.

I've never heard an Fbody sound like this:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/w...232E62D372.htm

My flowmaster might be similiar at idle because it has a hollow sound. But as soon as you bring the rev's up it's a different story.

Although, here is a mustang in my opinion that shys away from the average mustang sound. I wouldn't say it sounds powerless .:

Unfortunately the second video is "no longer available." Was that the one with the black mustang doing a couple of auto cross runs with the video being taken from a grand stand of some sort?
