Damn...am I a wuss or what?

About to replace the 305 with stock 350 rebuild and wondering if I should get new exhaust manifold ($150 per pair) or get ceramic coated shorties and y-pipe (about $350).

I love the lub-lub-lub-lub sound of a mean exhaust tone, but does the noise get annoying after a while? This is a daily driver.

What do you guys think?

The real wusses are those who equate annoying with desirable.

Headers will change the tone but won't make the car significantly louder.. and they'll perform much better than the stock manifolds...

if youre worried about noise, get a quieter muffler

I'll probably keep my flowmaster muffler. It was on the car when I bought it. Its got a nice tone but not loud. I think with the shorties it'll have a nice rumble but not as loud as as open element or with a full 3" cat back.

I havent searched yet, but was wondering if anyone has considered the c4 stock stainless manifold/headers. Looks like the expense of fabbing a y-pipe would make it not worth it.....but I dont know what they go for used anyway.

i have ported hooker 2055 shorties with hooker catback exhaust and no cat behind a 400+hp 355, thing sounds meaaaaan and loud as hell WOT, but it sounds really good, i get so many compliments on it, one of the best exhausts ive heard personally i wouldnt change it out for anything else.
