89 Firebird, Dual catalytic converters

I have an 89 firebird. I do not have dual catalytic converters and i was wondering if i could put in a true dual exhaust with both catalytic converters. If i can, would it be worth it? How much would it cost? Where could i get the parts?

If you are wanting to install dual cats and then run dual pipes and mufflers after that then I'm sure it can be done.......if you are wanting dual cats to remain emissions leagal then in most cases they have to be in the stock location....so an original style dual cat setup would have to be run....you could however use highflow cats....as far as price that will depend on brand quality and where you get your parts from.........I'd look in the regonal boards and find someone in your area and ask them about shops that would do a good job as the setup you are wanting isn't a just put two pipes in and run it kind of thing.....it would be custom.
Good luck and keep us posted,
Mike

Please do a search. This topic has been asked and answered hundreds of times.

Yes you can do it, no there is no kit you can order, it has to be custom made. It costs a lot of money to custom fabricate and the only benefit is the sound. Horsepower gain is negligable.
