headers without airtubes?

I looked at the chart at the top of the page and they all have air tubes. If there any shorties that come with a y-pipe that doesnt have any air tubes?
Im looking to spend roughly $400.00.

Thanks,

The same companies that make headers with air tubes also make headers without airtubes.

Call, alot of companies carry more than what you think they do, or what you see/know of.

I am running heedman headers, they make 3rd gen shorties without air tubes. They fit really well and don't leak. I like them better than the edelbrock air tube headers I had before. Also they are cheap, be warned the y pipe they sell will need work, but it where it goes from two into one they reduce the tube from 3" to 2.5" so if you have a 3" intermediate pipe you will have to have a muffler shop replace that section.

Yeah, because that looks good.

Isn't there an option out there for those of us who don't want air tubes, but refuse to settle for a set of headers with a bunch of welded-up holes?

I'm considering a set of Heddman 2460s and having a local shop make a y-pipe for me. It's unreal that nobody makes a good set of headers with a good y-pipe that doesn't have air tubes.

My brother has a 1994 suberban TBI and his manifolds looks the same as ours. Now would his headers fit on our cars because you can get a pair of headers coated chrome for 150 bucks for his truck?

Im thinking about ordering a set and seeing if they fit or not.
The only thing you would have to get a shop fab. a y-pipe or do it yourself but still its cheaper and so much better looking if they do fit.

If anyone knows please let me know

Thanks,

AIR tubes are part of the emissions package, and its a federal offense if you modify or disable the emissions systems. Therefore, selling headers for street vehicles without AIR tubes is technically illegal. That's why they're so hard to find.

The manifolds look the same, but the headers are routed differently to clear the frame. They wont fit in an f-body. Truck headers are cheaper because they dont have AIR pumps or AIR fittings (most of them).

Wow thats a big let down... But they can sell them as a "off road" headers just like they do with offroad Hpipes for mustangs which gets rid of the cats.

Does anyone know any part numbers for thirdgen shorty with a y-pipe with no air fittings??

Thanks,

I think you mean Hooker 2460's....you can get them and they also make a y-pipe for them as well....$200 for the y-pipe.

headers with no AIR tubes is not illegal as long as you can pass emissions...better yet nothing is illegal unless you cant make standards...

Wrong! Read what I said above. Its a FEDERAL offense to modify or remove your emissions equipment, regardless of your state's emissions tests. Removing your cat, removing your air pump, or removing your air fittings IS illegal. But youre not likely to get caught unless your area does smog checks.
