Hedman header Y-pipe.... 2.5" at the bend!
Im getting the hedman shorty headers '68471' and the y-pipe goes from 3" to 2.5" at the bend. Should i buy the hedman y-pipe that goes with them and just deal with it? Or is there another y-pipe that i can buy that is 3" at the bend? And with it being .5" smaller will i loose power and deeper note as compared to the full3" y-pipes? Thanks.
Here is a link to the headers im getting...Hedman Street Hedders: HED-68471 - summitracing.com

the hedman y-pipe is 2.5" all the way back. You'd have to modify it after the "Y" to make it 3" into the cat. I have this y-pipe, and it was a PITA. I ended up having a my muffler shop "modify" it, basically adding pipe to it so it would clear my oil pan, and tuck up nicely. The heders are great, I love them. But if your going with a y-pipe, your best bet is to have a muffler shop make a custom one for you, thats 2.5" to the Y and then 3" from the Y into the cat. Less hassle, and well worth the extra cash.

Why not Hooker 2055's and their 3-inch mandrel-bent Y?

perhaps he doesnt want air tubes? I was going on the assumption he was going to get the hedmans like stated in the first post.
I dont know the going rate at your shop, but I know mine runs 60 bucks an hour, and it took my exhaust guy about 2 hours to make one. Best bet would be to call around and ask
